![]() In this article, I will explore Little Giant Ladders’ world, their history, craftsmanship, and the wide range of ladder types they offer. The patented hinge-lock system allows for quick and easy adjustments in height and configuration, while its wide-flared legs provide unmatched stability on uneven surfaces. An excellent example is Little Giant Velocity (link to Amazon). Tip: When considering the Little Giant Ladder for your next project, don’t forget to take advantage of its unique features that set it apart from other ladder types. Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that at zero cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through the link and finalize a purchase. Crafted from durable materials like aluminum and fiberglass, Little Giant Ladders prioritize safety and performance. These ladders are available in various types, including step ladders, extension ladders, combination ladders, step stools, and multi-position ladders, catering to a wide range of needs and requirements. Little Giant Ladders are excellent for any job due to their quality, versatility, and innovative designs. But are they really that good? Let’s find out. I've used these ladders. In a market flooded with numerous ladder options, finding the right one for your needs can be overwhelming.Īmong the popular choices are Little Giant Ladders, known for their versatility and innovation. I've painted about 5 houses part time in the last couple of years. The 20' stepladder weights about 146 pounds. Both are likely to weigh about the same, which is to say, heavy. The stepladder is likely to be more stable, but will not work on stairs or close to walls like the Little Giant. The highest I have seen listed in catalogs is 14' to the platform.Ī good 20' stepladder probably costs as much as the 21' Little Giant. If I needed to get to only 20 feet, I would get a platform ladder, which has a fairly wide platform about 2' from the top, and a railing around 2 sides of the ladder at the top. I have spent many hours atop these ladders, and feel more comfortable on them than on a high stepladder. You loop your legs over the extension, and straddle the extension. It is also used as a ladder, especially in theaters. The extension trestle is an "A" ladder with an extension section in the middle, and was originally designed to hold scaffold planks. If you really need that height, you have at least two other alternatives: A 20 foot stepladder, which will get your feet to about 18, or an extension trestle. Given the size of the rungs on the Little Giant, I am not sure I would feel comfortable that high up on those rungs. ![]() You can probably reach to about 6', so you can reach 25'. The highest you can stand on a 21' ladder is about 19'. These are harder to stand on than stepladder steps.Īs a safe and practical matter, you can stand 2 feet below the top of a stepladder. Regular stepladders have treads to stand on, while the Little Giant (and the Jaws) have rungs, like those used on an extension ladder. The regular stepladder is likely to be more sturdy. The Little Giant has a hinge at the top, and what looks like a piece of rope partway down. The regular stepladder has a locking bar that holds the ladder together, which is located some distance down the ladder for rigidity. There are a couple of differences between a Little Giant ladder and a regular stepladder. It is heaver than my 8' wood ladder however. My 8' ladder folds up small enough to fit in a car trunk, and is both a step ladder and an extension ladder. I like my Jaws ladder, and have used it a lot. This is a quick hinge to lock, but there will always be a bit of play in the joint at the top. The holes for the pin have to be a bit bigger than the pin, so that the pin will be easy to enagage. The Little Giant uses a hinge that is locked by a pin on each side. This construction results in a slow operating hinge, but one that is always tight. The teeth are tapered, and the two halves are drawn together by a bolt and nut with a handwheel. The Jaws uses what looks like a jaw clutch, with probably 6 teeth and spaces. The difference between the Little Giant and the Jaws is how the hinge is locked. That is the real name, and made by a company in Canada. I have a ladder made by a competitor, "Jaws".

![]() I’ve been hoping Franken would just step down and I wouldn’t have to say anything. And Trump, who boasted he could “grab ‘em by the pussy,” being in the White House doesn’t make that untrue. And that original sin lost us the election of what we all assumed would be the first female president of the United States. It’s not just bad men and exhausted women it’s that we chose Bill over the women. But there’s a rot in the Democratic Party. I don’t feel like pummeling her with my privilege of hindsight. I think we all make the choices that seem right at the time. But I’m not condemning or admonishing Hillary. I’m also no longer defending Bill Clinton. Nothing makes that more clear than how women voted in the 2016 election. Their choices don’t seem so ridiculous to me any longer.ĭemocrats sold our soul. The New York Times’s Michelle Goldberg repented of her support for Bill Clinton, writing a piece with a battering ram as a headline, “I believe Juanita.” For me, it’s been sinking in that the working white women who felt condescended to by affluent feminists voted, by significant margins, for an admitted sexual predator over the lady who’d not believe them if they were abused by someone she liked. This year’s pervert purge has inspired many to look at uncomfortable truths about their heroes, their co-workers, and their values. Maybe, just maybe, it’s only good for the men. What if protecting men who harass and abuse women isn’t actually good for women? Do we really believe our talent pool will dry up and our caucus will be nonexistent once we kick out all the creepers? I don’t. I have a radical idea: Maybe Democrats can replace politicians who harass and abuse women with anyone other than an abuser. Here’s a new piece from The Atlantic by Tina Dupuy, a Democratic woman who said that she too was groped by Franken. I truly never thought I’d see the day when the GOP ceded the moral high ground to the Democrats on sexual ethics.
